Brother Teddy was someone who always brought light and joy to our circles. Whether in the Tipi or Danza circle his good nature always uplifted the people. Your laughter, humor and kindness will stay with us forever. Until we meet again big brother.

Tribute by Eloy Harris Hawk:
Theodore Butler .... It's been years since you went home to the old ones, and we still miss you. It still feels like you just went to ceremony and you will come over and have coffee and food with us and tell us all about it. You have always been a big part of my family and will always be part of my family. We miss you and love you. You're one of my heroes. You loved being native. You loved everything about being native, you loved to sing, you loved to dance, you loved to pray, you loved to share food with the people. You helped me out in many ways. When we talk you share stories about the old ways, what you saw and what you have been through in life. You used to tell me encouraging words like " bro I don't know how you do it but you do it" when I have to deal with events in my life. I thank you for your help in my life and in my family life too. I try to remember the words and all the hard work you would share with all of us, those memories and words are what get me through the days that are hard for me. Today as I sit in remembrance and appreciation of one of my heroes in life , I thank Creator God and the tribez that you have been born to for your spirit....
Until we meet again brother...
