Cultural & Community Events

Spaces to Witness, Reflect, and Reconnect

We host and promote public events rooted in cultural practice, fire and land stewardship, and youth empowerment. Each gathering is an invitation to return to the land, remember who we are, and walk together toward shared healing.

At Seventh Generation Rising, we grow stronger through shared experiences. Our events include seasonal ceremonies, skill-sharing workshops, and community gatherings that center relationship, learning, and cultural care. Everything we offer is shaped by Indigenous values and guided by a sense of responsibility to each other and the land.

As a small team, we are often fully focused on the care it takes to hold each event. Sometimes that means we miss the chance to document everything. We appreciate your patience as we continue learning how to share these moments more fully.

WALKING WITH FIRE: Family Backpacking Trip

May 30 – June 1, 2025
Lake Eleanor | For Families

This event is now full

Description:
This safe, two-night backpacking trip is made for our youngest relatives and their families. Together, we’ll walk trails, share fire circles, and take part in simple acts of land care guided by trusted SGR mentors and cultural stewards.

This is not a training. It’s a remembering.
For many children, this will be their first night under the stars, first forest story, and first ceremonial fire.

These moments matter.

Through our Free to Learn series, SGR families were invited into the world of animal rehabilitation and wildlife education. At Lindsay Wildlife Experience, youth connected with raptors, reptiles, and rescued animals. Some up close for the very first time.

These seasonal visits helped young participants understand the role of wildlife in local ecosystems, while also creating space to reflect on cultural teachings around animal kinship and care. Each visit encouraging deeper relationships with the living world around us.
