Leksi Kenny Farmer (MATȞÓ WAPIYA ČÍKʼALA / Little Bear Doctor)

It is with great honor that I pay tribute to Leksi Kenny Farmer (MATȞÓ WAPIYA ČÍKʼALA / Little Bear Doctor) who spent his life devoted to his Lakota ways and helping relatives get well and find their way. For the better part of the 20 years that I knew Kenny, he worked tirelessly to create space for us all to pray and learn from his altar and those that came through it. He was a good man and respectable person which made his medicine ways all the more profound. Kenny was a father, uncle, friend, and spiritual beacon for us and will be missed dearly. His teachings will live on through his relations and the memories of time spent together in the arbor will never be forgotten. We will do our very best to honor your legacy Leksi as simple people helping each other get through life with the power of the songs and prayers you were king enough to share.
