Linda Vasquez Rubio serves as Board Secretary of Seventh Generation Rising, where she brings a unique blend of lived experience, technical expertise, and strategic insight to the organization’s mission. She is of Tepehuan and Purépecha ancestry and is a first-generation U.S. citizen, born to a yerbera and huesero.

Raised in a time when assimilation was necessary for survival, Linda grew up disconnected from her cultural roots and ashamed of her identity. It wasn’t until she was exposed to ancestral ways later in life that it sparked a journey of reconnection—and a commitment to help others begin their own.

A homeschooling mother, Linda is now guiding her daughter in reclaiming her Comanche heritage and believes in creating space for families to explore identity with honesty and care. At SGR, she is part of a team that often says: “We are the bridge.” The work is not about giving people answers—it’s about igniting a remembering. SGR doesn’t teach identity, but it can help light the spark for those ready to find their way back.

Professionally, Linda's experience spans roles in copywriting, website administration, IT, project management, entrepreneurial support, and nonprofit initiatives. She specializes in brand and marketplace data analysis, providing valuable insights into dynamic markets—skills that help SGR strengthen its communications, digital infrastructure, and community-facing tools.

Linda is currently completing her Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications and plans to pursue further studies in Data Analytics. Her academic journey honors her mother's sacrifices and reflects her commitment to using technology and strategy in service of community impact.

She has also mentored foster youth and emerging leaders, always advocating for healing, belonging, and the power of reclaiming identity on your own terms.

As Board Secretary, Linda supports SGR’s operational growth and digital systems with clarity, care, and a deep commitment to the next seven generations.
